Kawader ERP — Building Materials Trade
A builders' merchant is three businesses at once: a yard, a haulier and a lender. Most systems are built for the first and quietly ignore the other two.
What a general system gets wrong here
Bought in one unit, sold in another
Purchased by the tonne or the truckload, sold by the bag, the piece or the cubic metre. The conversion differs by product and has to be part of the item, not of the storekeeper's arithmetic.
Delivery is part of the product
The price depends on where it goes and who carries it. The lorry belongs to the order, not to overheads, or the near customers subsidise the far ones and nobody knows by how much.
Credit is the business
Contractors buy on account against a project. Exposure per customer and per site is the number the owner actually watches, and it has to be visible at the counter before the load goes out.
Breakage and shrink are normal
Bricks arrive broken and cement hardens in the yard. A system that cannot post a loss against a specific delivery stops matching reality inside a week.
