Kawader ERP — Paints & Coatings
A paint company manufactures twice: once in the factory, which makes bases, and once at the counter, which makes colours. The second one happens in a building you do not own.
What a general system gets wrong here
The last step happens in the shop
The base is manufactured; the colour is made at the point of sale from a formula the factory owns. The finished good is created outside the factory and still has to be costed, priced and guaranteed by it.
A colour is a formula, not an attribute
Thousands of shades come from a handful of bases and colourants. The catalogue is generated from formulas; stocking it as items would fill a warehouse with cans nobody asked for.
A touch-up from another batch shows on the wall
Batch matching is not a laboratory nicety. The batch has to stay on the can and in the customer's record so the second visit finishes the job rather than starting an argument.
Solvents are regulated stock
Flammable storage limits, handling rules and waste disposal are inventory constraints with legal weight, not warehouse preferences to be managed by the storekeeper's judgement.
Other trades
Plastics
Injection, blow and extrusion, where the tool is the capacity and the scrap goes back into the batch.
Resin lot to despatched pallet
Kawader ERPChemicals & Specialty Products
Reaction and blending, where a drum is a weight, an assay and a certificate, and the by-product is stock.
Raw batch to certified drum
Kawader ERPDairy, Juice & Preserves
Milk, juice, jam and paste, where the intake is priced on a lab result and the code on the pallet is the recall.
